THE AMAZON VILLAGE is located 30km (18.75 miles) from Manaus, on the banks of Puraquequara Lake, upstream Puraquequara River. Because of the acid water pH, mosquitoes and viruses which cause dengue, cholera, malaria, yellow fever, etc. do not proliferate in the area. |

Starting in Manaus, only a boat will take you to the Amazon Village.
Guests are being picked up either from the Airport or Hotel and transferred by car to the CEASA port for embarkation.
The trip on board a local river boat takes about 2 1/2 hours and passes by the " Meeting of the Waters" and continues through a side arm of the Rio Negro to the Lodge. The transfer is in itself already a rather enjoyable experience. |

THE TRANSFER from Manaus to the Amazon Village or vice-versa takes about 3 hours divided in the following parts:
PART 1: MANAUS/CEASA PORT
- by van, microbus or bus (Duration: around ½ hr)
PART 2: CEASA PORT/AMAZON VILLAGE
- by regional boat, via the Meeting of the Waters phenomenon. (Duration: around 2 ½ hrs)
IMPORTANT NOTES:

No air conditioning in the regional boat.

For safety procedures, the maximum luggage allowance in the boat is 5kg (11 lb) per person. The main luggage can be stored in our office in Manaus which has appropriate storing facilities;

The water level during September/October/November/December is low, the dry period. During that time, part of the transfer is done by canoe and guests may still have to walk 300m (330 yards).

Transfers and local excursions are on regular basis. They are subject to alterations and/or cancellations, without previous notice, depending on the weather conditions and/or water level.
